I have a Samsung HL-5065W. Is there a way to tell how many hours are already on the bulb?
And when a new bulb is installed do I have to reset the lamp counter/hour meter?
Thanks...

Re: Can I view the hours used on the onscreen menu?
Hi mikro,
You can see how many hours your bulb has on the service menu (Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power).
Yes, you have to reset your lamp hour meter each time you replace the bulb. If you don't do it the TV will think it has the old bulb and once the maximum lamp life time is reached it will turn Off.

It's funny they tell in the manual how to change the bulb but nothing about resetting the timer

What is the actual maximum lamp life time? If I replace the lamp and do not reset the counter, what are the total hours before the tv begins to shut down? Sorry, but I am having a hard time understanding how the counter would affect the power of the unit.

Hi TMSooner,
The lamp timer begins shutting down the TV when it reaches 6000 hours.
