Hello,
First I'm very pleased and thankfull to have found such a nice forum for us DLP RPTV geeks.
Here is my problem. I own the European version of the HLR5087 TV set (SP50L7HX) for more than 5 years now and the Lamp is the genuine one.
Two days ago, when turning it on it started to show a very dimmed picture immediately and that dark picture did not brigthen as usual after 10 to 20 sec until the set turned off istelf (after 20-30 seconds max) and started to turn on again, then off again and so on, until eventually it reachs a normal brigthing and maintened like that many hours if needed.
But now each time I switch it on it shows same symptoms, cycles with 5-10 on/off then ok.
Of course I'm suspecting the lamp exhaustion and I have already one prepared waiting in its box for 2 years. But i do not see any alarm or lamp signs or whatever in the booting process.
So should I go with the lamp replacement only or should I expect any other issue based on these symptoms ?
