I was watching tv when I heard a pop and the screen turned red for about 20 seconds then black. I have sound but now it just cycles on & off with the front 3 lights flashing and a black screen. The TV is about 6 years old. I think it is probably the lamp but I'm not possitive. Any suggestions on how/if to try to repair the TV would be helpful. Thanks

sounds like the color wheel broke and then was stopped on the red color. if the color wheel isn't spinning the tv will turn off. Also if the color wheel is broken the tv wont power up and that could be why you are getting the 3 lights.
