I have had my Samsung HLS5687WX DLP TV set for over 3 years now and about 1 year ago I went through my 1st bulb replacement but here recently I have been having a few issues where the tv will turn off after a few hours of use. I do not get any buzzing noises, picture problems or anything. Now, when i do turn the tv back on the LED light under the "LAMP" button blinks green. Would I already need another lamp this soon? What else could it be?

All 3 lights will flash if the lamp is bad. To me it sounds like a digital board color wheel or another issue. I have seen bad digital boards make this issue happen, but it could be anything. Does the lamp light up? If you look at the back of the set do you see it on. Do you hear the color wheel spin up? If you don't it could be the color wheel. if the lamp is on but no sound or video and you dont hear the start up beep it could be the digital board.
It could even be over heating. It may need all the fans cleaned.

The lamp lights up and i get audio and video. It just cuts off after a few hours. No weird noises. No weird colors. Maybe fans?

I would clean the fans first to make sure they are spinning. If they are spinning then it could be a power supply issue or a ballast issue. It could be other issues, but normaly powering off at odd times is a power supply or ballast.

you could try a replacement ballast and a replacement power supply. Most likely it will be less for you to replace both then what it would cost for a tech to do it. if you do have a tech look at it. It will be less if you take the tv to the shop. Most places charge like 75 to show up at your house.

Have you tried resetting the lamp timer on the TV? This is a very common issue that many people take for granted or don’t know about. If that doesn’t work, that its definitely a tv part.

The map i got about 1 year ago was installed by a Best Buy service specialist. Do you think he forgot to reset it and how does that affect anything?

It's a very conmen issue that technicians forget or don’t know about the lamp timer, best buy has good technicians, how ever they are not exempt of human error, so it’s a considerable probability, here is a link of a video where it shows the inside of a Samsung TV very similar to yours (0:57 min).

I have already pulled out the rear and cleaned up and no issues for 1 weeks. Should be good?

That was probably it (you see the dust & mold that accumulates tends to over heat the internal parts thus activating the temperature sensors, then the DMD shuts of the TV) best of luck!
