I have a 4 year old 63 inch Samsung DLP. The lamp has been replaced once about a year ago. When you turn the TV on everything is fine until the projection lamp warms up usually in about a minute. At that time Several White verticle lines appear across the screen at semetricle distance. The line are about 3 inches wide and are about 3 inchs apart. the lines themselves are made up of tiny white dots that you can partialy seen through. Should I try to call a repairman or is this something I can trubleshot and fix myself? Help??????????

hi Joe.

The problem you have is due to a DMD failure. My recommendation is to replace the DMD board. However to be on the safe side, display the TV menu, if the lines appear on the menu too then go ahead with the replacement, if not then get back to us and we'll continue troubleshooting.

How hard is it to replace? Can I do it myself or am I asking for trouble to try?

Not a big deal if you're a handy person. Just need to remove screws and take some parts out of the TV.

Check this out: color wheel replacement guide, you can follow those steps until you have the light engine apart, then instead of replacing the color wheel replace the DMD board.
