DMD Board?

Greetings,

I just got a Samsung HL-S4266W (for free!!) but it has minor display issues. The best way I can describe what is happening is over-saturation when the picture produces white or bright colors. After messing with the tv settings it seems that the contrast makes the biggest difference and almost eliminates the problem. With the contrast almost all the way down you can only tell there is a problem when it is a bright scene (any type of white or natural light). Also, when a bright light is pictured there are faint black lines running horizontally across the screen spaced about 5 inches or so apart.

After consulting a couple of people the general consensus is the DMD board. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Hi skatingspitzer,

About the lines: Are they moving or are they in a fixed place?

Do these issues affect the TV menu? If so then you're right, the problem would be with your DMD board. If they doesn't then the problem could be with your digital board (check if affect all the inputs).

The lines are fixed. The tv menu does not seem to be affected. It seems like the menu comes "in front" of the problem. All of the inputs seem to be affected as well.

Here is a picture of what the screen looks like:

On any other tv the picture is solid blue - you can see the oversaturation along the edges of the picture.

Thanks!

Ok, then my recommendation is to replace the digital board.
You can look for it in the http://www.discount-merchant.com website.

If i was in your place...the first thing to do will be to replace the digital board.

If that doesn't work... Ill just follow the path...until i fix the problem.
