WD 62531 w/green/yellow picture

Post by chevyss555 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:12 pm

Have a mitsubishi WD 62531 that the picture has a predominately green/yellow tint to it. I have tried to take out the yellow with the perfect color adjustment but nothing seems to help. bulb has been replaced and set is 3 yrs old. Is it DOA or worth trying to fix??

Hello,
I definitely think this big HDTV is worth fixing, this sound like a colorwheel issue. you you get any squeaky grinding or screeching sounds? If not then is the color the only distortion? If you turn all your colors down to ZERO and leave the picture in black and white, does everything work perfectly??? if so this might indicate a dying colorwheel and needs replacing ASAP
hope this helps!

Thank You
Everything else seems to be working fine. Does not make any noises and have taken all the color out and still has good picture. Can you give me an approx. cost for parts and labor??
Thanks again.

Well to be honest (as a tech) its cheaper to do it yourself, it is not that hard, look at the guide below... ;)

and for parts I always get them at: http://www.discount-merchant.com/ :P

I must be blind but I can't find any guide to change out color wheel on a Mitsubishi WD 62531.
Thanks for all your help.
