Greetings,
I have a Sony 60 inch KDFE60A20.
My problem is:

I turn it on and it runs for 1-5 minutes then the picture and sound go out but the green "on" light stays lit.
After 1-2 minutes, the picture and sound come back on and then it keeps cycleing on and off (approx, 2 minutes on then 2 minutes off) till I manually shut it off.
Some times when starting it again, I get the flashing red light (5 flashes, pause then 5 flashes...).
The lamp is only 4 months old.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

if there is no color distortion I would look into any strange noises coming form your TV. Like a buzzing electric click which is one of the indicators a ballast might be weak.
note* a defective ballast does not need to make a sound in order for it to need replacement!
