Ok folks I need help before I buy the wrong parts or decide if I am to try and fix TV.

So the terribly loud whining noise problem has existed for last few months and I educated myself to the point where I "believe" my issue was that of a bad color wheel. I have been sort of procrastinating until the thing became unbearable before replacing.

So today I happen to be online looking for best price on a BP96-01854A as the TV is basically screaming now, and my wife comes to me and says it finally died.

Upon going to look at TV and assuming I am going to have a blank screen, I immediately power it on and a image comes up and the loud whining still exist yet no sound.

When I asked her if it happened while watching TV, she said no. As she went to turn it on she encountered the lack of volume at any level.

So, do I now have two problems? or could the color wheel caused both?

Guys, Sorry but I found out it wasn't TV at all, it was just one source going in my old tivo with lifetime subscription that I had been hanging onto.

So I do just have a bad color-wheel issue that I need to resolve.

Any recommendations on best place to buy part?
