Samsung HLT6176s set was working fine earlier today. Turned set on tonight and no pic but lamp light blicking. Took lamp out and it appears no burnout filaments or charring. Would a lamp so suddenly die? Is something else causing no pic? Sound is ok. Hate to buy new lamp and find out it was something else.

most likely a ballast issue, if the ballast doesnt ignite the lamp, it is going to give you the lamp error light
