LG TV RU-44sz51D I think the power board is not working. How can I tell if a capacitor is bad. The tv starts to power up and then shuts back off.

You'll need to check the capacitors as they are usually the first to blow if something goes bad. Check to see if they bulge on the top. If there are caps, remove them to check.
