Hey guys. New here but will probably stick around for awhile now that I found you. So I bought a HLR5667WX/XAA six years ago with few problems. Well the kid was watching cartoons and then all of a sudden screen colors go wacky and grinding noise happens. Now through exhaustive internet search I think it seems to be the color wheel. Watched a youtube video where the guy stated as much and his tv made the same noise. He shows how to swap it out so I am going to attempt it. I have a more basic question though. I went to Samsung did a live chat spoke with a friendly girl named Kristie. I ask for the model # of the color wheel she goes off to check and then states due to the technical nature the color wheel is inaccessable to end users. Yeah right.
So here I am need the model #. My search turned up 2 different candidates at samsung parts. BP96-00674A or BP96-01103A for either a L3 or L6 chassis. Which do I need to try? If I don't ask we all know that I will pick the wrong 50% and be out 88$ or 124$.
Oh also while I am asking ?'s might as well as ask this one!
Everytime I turn on the tv it takes about 15-30 second of the power button blinking before it finally does? This normal or a sign that the lamp is acting up. I mean since her guts are already going to be open right?
which is not the same part number but should be identical...
