61" DLP
I'm thinking about buying a used 61" DLP. There is one problem. The owner replaced the bulb with a generic bulb and the screen is very dark. Will there be any other problems if I just buy a new Samsung bulb that actually is made for the TV? Please help.

Hello MooShoo.
Installing generic lamps technically speaking doesn’t damage the TV, so the fix to your problem would be to buy a new lamp. Oh, and buy the way, there is no such thing as a Samsung lamp. The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part for your TV would be a Philips lamp; they are the best lamp on the market in terms of long life & brightness. How ever befor you buy it, look out for any of these symptoms.
Weird noises coming from the inside of the TV when turning it on, such as : whining, whirling, hissing, constant clicking, humming, etc. also if there is any distortion in the TV those are signs of trouble.
Hope this helps you out.
