HL-T6156W Samsung DLP, remote, nor manual controls
Hi, Im new here. I have a samsung t6156w dlp. (61 inch)I turned on my tv today and later i trie to turn the volumn down using my remote as usual. The tv wouldnt respond, so i took it tha the batteries were bad, I replaced them and noticed it still wouldnt respond. I walked to it and tried to adjust the volumn with the front controls on the bezel under the screen, No response. I pressed all the on remote and bezel and none works, even the power button on front bezel on the tv. So, my tv is on, plays perfect other than having no controls on it. I had thought about unplugging it but was afraid it wouldnt turn back on. not: I have direct tv so i can change change channels with satellite being the tv was on before this happend, so, i am watching it. But i did notice that each time i press any button with remote or manually on bezel that the green timer light on bezel flashes, but dont operate any functions. If anyone has any ideas to what my problem may be, I would really appreciate the help, Thanks.

Hello,
this can be a simple input problem, if the buttons on the front are part of the board with the IR sensor for the remote (about 14 to 25$). If this is not the case, it can be a DMD (motherboard of a dlp) board issue, in which case you would need to swap out the complete light engine (around 200 to 300$ in discount-merchant.com), which is not as hard as it sounds...

Oh, sorry. I spoke before i asked another question. Any quick ways to check to see which problem it could be without buying unnecessary parts?

I want to say, taking apart the front and looking to see if the buttons and IR sensor are on the same Part/Board. If they are separate then I am leaning more towards the DMD board.

If you notice the green light has activity when you press a button in the remote, it could be a couple of things:
as Grayfox mentioned before....
1.- Button Set Key Board (which has the Remote control sensor, and Power, CH, Vol buttons).
2.- DMD (which controls all the instructions of changing settings on picture)
3.- Digital Video Board (which also controls Audio settings)
In my opinion I will lean more to 1 n 2.
I will definitely try the Button Set Key first, since is very cheap to get.
And if that doesnt work you can try the digital board. Before investing in the DMD.
Change is the only constant, we must become the change we want to see.

hello hungsolo! lol
Yes was there any update? if there was no physical harm to the buttons, its most probably a DMD (motherboard) issue.
