Ok so I replaced the light engine assembly, which i spent about 2 hours on. I still have the same problem, although the color is more vivid. Sigh... anyone else have any ideas?

I found the sony surplus store, and they are changing way less ~$580 (including tax and shipping). They warranty the unit for 1 year. Hopefully this unit will last me another 6 years, when I decide to buy a new TV. I'll keep you guys posted of the results after I install it. If anyone is interested ...
