hey mpd did you try replacing the lamp did it work for you and is your tv no longer shutting down after thirty seconds ?

falcon did you ever figure out what this could be ? i have the same problem with my 56" , the tech that came by said it was a ballast issue i replaced it a few minutes ago and same exact problem .
