Re: HLR5067 Wax/xaa no picture-no sound
Check your color wheel physically to be on the safe side, you can use this guide: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp96-01579a.php . Did you reset the lamp timer?, if not, follow this steps: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=92 . Do you have the lamp door seated properly every time you try to turn the TV on?...

Re: At my wits end with this Samsung HL-S4266W
Hi angelprincess. The problem you have is most probably the lamp, however there is a small probability is the ballast. However you have nothing to lose with trying the lamp first, as you know the lamp has a life span, so sooner or later you'll need to replace it. If you try a new bulb and this doesn...

Access the service menu (In Standby mode, press "Mute", 1, 8, 2, "Power")

No it doesn't seem to affect the menu. I took apart the entire optical path to look at all the components (mostly mirrors and stuff) looking for a color wheel which I did not find. It seems this product only has a light engine. The color is mostly blue and sometimes has blue random streaks on the s...

All indicates that the problem is your analog board. We can discard the DMD since the menu appears over the lines, and we can discard the digital because the HDMI is the only input that works fine (this input doesn't go through the analog).
Hope this helps.

You're right, if your problem only appears when an analog input is being displayed, the problem should be there. However as far as I know the analog board can't freeze the menu, and that's what I understood from your second post. But now that you clarified that, I agree with you. I don't know what c...

Re: TV Shuts Off randomly

Another possibility is that the color wheel is malfunctioning, this would produce a spinning noise, just...

Re: Need help with 56" Samsung DLP
Hi JHeffner.
I don't know if you have technical skills, but you need to check if is there any swollen capacitor on the digital board or power supply board, this could cause that the TV doesn't respond to any remote or front panel button.

Hi Todd. It doesn't seem to be a color wheel problem. When the color wheel fails the TV turns off or presents color issues. It seems like the problem is the DMD board. Did you try another input?
Check if the power supply has any swollen capacitors, that could cause that the TV doesn't respond to the power button.

Then there is no reason to replace it. The ballast is the most probably culprit. However, as I said before, the best option is to try another lamp first.mstennes wrote:Its out and I'm looking at it, it looks fine to me , it even turns easily when I tried to turn it to see if it was jamed up.

Re: Check Fan #2
I think replacing the fan should be enough. The fan has an internal sensor which sends a signal through a cable (I think the yellow one) indicating is working properly, I think the problem might be there and the fan is about to break.

Maybe the problem is with the sensor that detects if the fan is not working properly. There should be any connection from the fan to the DMD board, since this is the board in charge of displaying those messages.
