well it took a really long time to get feedback, but i figured it out myself. the big fan is NO. 1 and the little fan is NO. 2. they are very easy to replace and affordable.

i am looking for a solution. for awhile the message was on the screen "check fan no. 1". now the TV won't power up at all. i am not even sure where to start. all the forums seem to revolve around the lamps. but i see nothing about the fans. please help.

how do i fix the samsung HLT5076SX/XAA when it says check fan no. 1? then the tv went out all together and won't power up now.
