Re: WD 62531 w/green/yellow picture
Hello, I definitely think this big HDTV is worth fixing, this sound like a colorwheel issue. you you get any squeaky grinding or screeching sounds? If not then is the color the only distortion? If you turn all your colors down to ZERO and leave the picture in black and white, does everything work pe...

Re: HLR5067W POWER SUPPLY OR DIGITAL BOARD PROBLEM?
Hello,
wow this TV worked even after 2 blow outs?!!
nice!
And yes both can be giving you the malfunction, I would recommend replacing the power supply first since it is the one that receives the power surge (and it is a less expensive part than the motherboard DMD).

Re: SAMSUNG 50 DLP
well as a tech, rule of thumb is that during a DLPs life span those last two consumable parts have to be changed at least once during the lifespan of the TV.
(do some research online and you will find this to be the case) in the long run i think this will save you future headaches...

Re: Sony 60 in KDFE60A20
if there is no color distortion I would look into any strange noises coming form your TV. Like a buzzing electric click which is one of the indicators a ballast might be weak.
note* a defective ballast does not need to make a sound in order for it to need replacement!
Hope this helps

Yup you are correct, as for the fan I am sure you can find one there are only a couple of fan manufacturers. If you wanted to purchase the original, they sell them by the set.

Hello,
I think this will most likely be the DMD board, the only way to rule this our would be to test analog versus digital inputs...
you mention you cannot test with HDMI, how about a DVI?

Hello,
not always but it is the most common procedure your TV would take when a lamp goes, it would at one point detect the lamp is bad and shut down the rest of the components. I would replace the lamp.
hope this helps!

Hello,
Are DVD and Cable inputs both analog signals? (i.e. componenet, coaxial)
I think either way you might have a problem with you DMD board.
when it freezes does it not receive commands?

well there's 2 parts to look at:

...so if the HDMI is ALSO affected, I vote change the Input Board!
